Lady Deer Visit Elementary Students
The Lady Deer basketball teams were invited to San Jacinto Elementary and Deer Park Elementary during Texas Public School Week. The Lady Deer Basketball Team was honored on Feb 28, 2012 at the Salvation Army Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. They received the award for helping at Christmas in the warehouse. Lady Deer brought about 50 volunteers to help on this occasion. On hand to receive the award were Varsity player, A. Hawthorne, and Booster Club Secretary, Kimberly Hawthorne. Kimberly also spoke briefly about why volunteering together as a team was important to head Coach Teresa White and what the experience meant to the team.
