Welcome to the Web site of the Deer Park High School Deer Escorts. The Escorts were originally founded in 1950 as a "spirit group" for the high school athletic teams, but have grown into an award winning, regional and national championship drill team. Under the current direction of Sara Hance, the Deer Escorts compete in dance competitions, participate in halftime performances, and volunteer throughout the community

Where I’m From

Junior 2012~2013

I am from ballet shoes,

From MAC and Mod 33 eyelashes.

I am from the brown hardwood floor in the studio,

(shiny, glossy like new lipstick).

I am from the tiny pink tights

 And little black leotards that turned into

White boots and sparkly overlays.

I am from the dirt, the glitter, and the toe tape.

I am from shows and smiles, from Schaaf,

Hance and Boren.

I am from the bling it outs and dress it ups,

From “Practice makes permanent” and “One more time”.

I am from the prayers of Matthew before a performance.

I’m from the studio rooms, the gym,

The water bottles and protein bars.

From falling out of pirouettes and grand jete leaps,

The solos, the team dances, the costumes begging to be worn.

I am from the walls covered in awards,

Framed pictures of champions,

Dancers that will go down in history,

Role models for little girls that will continue

 The tradition of excellence.

I am from those moments-

The butterflies and spotlights-

And when I grow too old too dream,

I’ll have them to remember.
